Servicing the Chicagoland Area
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I'm having a party, how many servers and bartenders will I need?
Formal Sit Down Meal: One server for every 10-15 guests;
Buffet Service with Glassware: One server for every 25 guests;
Buffet Service with Disposable: One server for every 50 guests;
Tray/Passed Appetizers: Two servers for every 50 guests; and
Bartenders: One bartender for every 50 guests
Do you have a minimum of time the servers need to be there?
Yes, we require a four-hour minimum on all parties/events. However, there is no maximum. Meaning: when we are at your party, we are never rushing out to go to another event. We will stay as long as the client needs. We advise that the waitstaff arrive a minimum of 15 minutes prior to your guests and remain later for clean up.
Is there a correct amount to tip a server?
We believe tipping to be a very personal matter and would not want to offend our clients by adding a service charge or gratuity to your bill. That being said, we are regularly asked for insight on what is considered to be an appropriate tip. We find that many clients tip in the range of $50 per server. It is not unusual for our staff to receive gratuities above and beyond for their outstanding performance.
Are you a caterer?
No, we do not prepare the food in its entirety. We will assist with light food prep, warm up, plate, and serve the food. We are happy to recommend various caterers and give you sample menus from which to choose.
I would like to order a tent for an upcoming party but don't know what size I should rent, can you help?
Yes, we work with rental companies from our neighboring areas and coordinate any party rental/linen requests. We can certainly assist with getting you the right size tent and the correct amount of tables, chairs, and linen.
How much food should I order?
That depends on a lot of different things such as: Is this a cocktail party or a sit down dinner with appetizers and dessert? Will this be an open house type of party? How long do you plan the party to be? Please contact us if you would like catering assistance.
Do your bartenders provide the alcohol?
No, they do not. They will bring a table, linen, and their own tools if you desire, however, they do not provide alcohol to the event. We will gladly send you a list of liquor/bartending suggestions for your event.
I'm thinking about serving a specialty cocktail at my party, do you have any suggestions?
Yes. We are frequently asked for bartending recommendations. For your convenience, feel free to print out these cocktails that have been recommended by our bartenders or prior clients. Download our Specialty Cocktail List
What forms of payment do you accept?
Currently, we accept cash and checks. You can give your payment directly to your
server(s) on staff that evening unless it is different than previously requested. In that instance, you will be billed after the party. Should you wish to give your server a gratuity, please do so at the end of your event.
I'm thinking about having a casino party, is this legal?
All parties are for entertainment purposes and games are not "banked". In other words, your guests cannot play with real money. We play for raffle prizes.
Do I tip the dealers?
The dealers at your casino party are service people just like our servers and bartenders. They provide a service for you just as they would in an actual casino and tipping is generally based on the level of that service. Unlike an actual casino, the chips have no cash value and therefore players cannot use them to tip dealers. It becomes the responsibility of the host to tip the dealers. Tips in the amount of $30.00 per dealer are common.
Can I rent equipment without dealers?
We do frequently rent out our equipment without dealers. We usually recommend that you hire a roulette dealer if you want that game unless you have someone who knows the game very well, as this is a more complex game to run.
What if I want a longer party?
Our standard rates include dealers for three hours. For most parties where you are raffling prizes at the end, we find this to be a sufficient amount of time. However, if you want to go longer, we charge $30.00 per hour, per dealer.
